About Terri'A Russell
Terri'A Russell arrives as a 6-foot-2 freshman forward after a successful prep career that included three Oakland Athletic League championships and a 2023 CIF Division I state title. She averaged 17.7 points during the 2024-25 season after scoring 15.4 per game as a junior and collected multiple all-tournament honors. UNLV recruited her for the size and versatility to play through contact while still operating away from the basket.

Scouting Report
Russell's game starts with the combination of wing size and proven prep scoring. At 6-foot-2, she can create matchup problems if she handles and shoots well enough to play on the perimeter because smaller wings have to deal with her length while traditional posts can be pulled away from the rim. Her scoring progression — from 15.4 points as a junior to 17.7 the following season — supports the idea that she became more than a complementary player in high school. The college translation is still unproven because there is no college sample yet. UNLV should not assume prep production immediately translates into efficient Mountain West isolation offense. Her early pathway is likely defense, rebounding, cuts and attacking closeouts, then expanding the creation package as her reads catch up to the speed of the game. The state-title experience matters because she has played in meaningful games and on winning teams. If her perimeter skill translates, Russell could eventually give UNLV a true big wing instead of forcing her into a conventional power-forward role.
