EA Sports College Football has quickly become one of the most anticipated annual releases in sports gaming again.
The teams are back. The stadiums are back. The fight songs are back. The players are back. And for UNLV fans, College Football 27 gives them a roster that should be more fun to use than the Rebels have been in past versions of college football video games.
EA Sports College Football 27 releases worldwide on July 9 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. In the buildup to the release, EA Sports has revealed player ratings for every Division I team, including UNLV.
The Rebels are led by running back Jai’Den Thomas, who is rated 89 overall. He is followed by running back Jaylon Glover at 83, right tackle Austin Boyd and defensive tackle Lucas Conti at 82, and cornerback Denver Harris and wide receiver Taz Reddicks at 81.
UNLV has six players rated 81 overall or higher and 13 players rated 78 overall or higher.
The biggest appeal is obvious. The Rebels have a star running back, a second strong back, two athletic quarterback options, speed at receiver and enough defensive backs who can run to make the roster interesting for national players looking for a Group of Six team to use.
Thomas is the name most UNLV fans will notice first. His 89 overall rating comes with 91 speed, 93 agility, 90 change of direction, 93 injury and 86 awareness.
Glover gives the Rebels another back with 90 speed, while Jackson Arnold and Alex Orji give users different quarterback options. Arnold is rated 78 overall with 84 speed and 86 agility. Orji is rated 76 overall with 89 speed and 88 agility.
The player who may become a favorite for gamers is Amorion Walker. He is rated 75 overall, but his athletic ratings jump off the page: 93 speed, 97 agility and 93 change of direction.
Kayden McGee is another lower-rated player with a useful video-game trait. He is rated 70 overall but has 92 speed. Taz Reddicks, Taeshaun Lyons and Thomas all have 91 speed.
For UNLV fans, that should make the Rebels worth loading up. For everyone else scrolling through teams outside the power conferences, UNLV looks like one of the more interesting Mountain West rosters to test.

Thomas is the star of the roster, but he is not the only reason to play with UNLV.
The Rebels have multiple fast receivers, two mobile quarterbacks, a strong backfield and enough speed in the secondary to make the defense usable. Walker’s 93 speed and 97 agility should be one of the first things gamers test, while Arnold and Orji give players two different ways to build the offense.
UNLV may not be one of the highest-rated teams in College Football 27, but the Rebels have a roster that should be fun for fans and interesting for anyone looking for an under-the-radar team to use.
